Projects

TreeMetrics has successfully delivered forest projects in 14 different countries over the past six years. These projects have ranged in size from large EU collaborative projects (e.g. ERA- NET, EUFP-7) to small scale innovation partnerships and pilots at both national level and international level e.g. British Forestry Commission (UK), Skogforsk (Sweden), Coillte (Ireland), Skogoglandskap (Norway), State Forests of South Australia, Oregon State University, State Forest Grower Poland, State Forest Grower Austria (OBF), French National Forest Inventory (IFN), Latvia (Silava).

The companies’ management team have deep forestry experience having worked in the area of forest measurement and supply chain optimisation with major forest companies in 14 countries around the world. The company’s partnership with the Cork Constraints Computation Centre (4C) has added world class constraint programming capability.

The company is currently involved in an EU funded project called FLEXWOOD, an r&d partnership with supply chain experts from around Europe, Canada and the US. The company is also collaborating with CRC Australia a leading supply chain researcher in the southern hemisphere. In addition the company is currently working with a major forest owner and sawmill group in Norway to optimise the forest to mill value chain. The project is called Balabu and has a budget of €540,000 funded by the Norwegian Government.

Finally the company is currently developing the Forest Warehouse platform to suit the optimal harvesting of Radiata Pine plantations for Forestry South Australia. This project is a AUS $100,000 funded by FSA and is due for delivery in November of this year.
